The American Association of Veterinary Medical Colleges (AAVMC) is seeking a Manager for Member Engagement to join its high-performing team. The Manager for Member Engagement will advance AAVMC’s strategic goal to increase member engagement in shaping and advancing the work of the AAVMC by promoting member value and supporting staff in driving member engagement across the association. The ideal Manager for Member Engagement is highly organized and analytical with excellent written and oral communication skills who thrives in a diverse and collaborative environment. This position is remote and requires travel approximately 4-5 times a year and reports to the Director for Professional Development. Summary of Primary Responsibilities
Develops and delivers volunteer onboarding experience and orientation materials in alignment with the AAVMC’s policies, procedures, and core values.
Coordinates volunteer engagement across all AAVMC entities, including managing the call for volunteers, implementing the annual committee reporting process, soliciting feedback on volunteer experiences, and providing recommendations based on member feedback and association industry trends.
Manages and oversees the functionality of AAVMC’s online community and online learning platforms with the goal of increasing member engagement.
Works closely with internal stakeholders to support online learning offerings including, but not limited to, creating new courses, loading and updating of content, enrolling learners manually and in bulk, and running reports
Collaborates to ensure consistency in data input across AAVMC’s member-facing platforms, including data clean up processes and data usage monitoring.
Identifies, tracks, and reports key member engagement metrics and ensures engagement data is easily accessible by staff, including through the preparation and presentation of reports for internal leadership and the Board of Directors.
Work with staff to create strategies for enhanced engagement within their programs.
Maintains documentation of membership-related processes and procedures.
Collaborates with marketing team to develop strategies for maintaining and increasing engagement on the online community, volunteer portal, member spotlights, etc.
Works with internal teams to incorporate diversity, equity, and inclusion principles into the AAVMC’s overall operations.
Promotes a culture of continuous improvement and customer service, responding to and anticipating member needs.
Works with the senior staff and the Director for Professional Development on management of key membership committees and programs.
Summary of Qualifications
At least 3-4 years’ work experience with member services, member support, or related field
Preferred candidates will have a bachelor's degree and/or experience working in an association or non-profit environment.
Experience coordinating projects, events, and activities with virtual, in-person, and hybrid teams
Familiarity with basic or intermediate analytics practices for evaluating member engagement
Proven ability to work under time constraints, meet deadlines, organize tasks with excellent attention to detail, design effective processes, and create structure in ambiguous situations
Experience and willingness to embrace new opportunities for professional growth
Exceptional English-language written, oral, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively to diverse audience and successfully navigate challenging situations
A broad understanding of current digital technologies and strong knowledge and proficiency in data software: Microsoft Office Suite (required), Zoom and Teams (required), AMS experience (strongly preferred), LMS experience (strongly preferred)
