Central City Veterinary Clinic is hiring an additional full-time mixed animal veterinarian. We are a professional and progressive rural mixed animal clinic committed to providing outstanding service and care for our regional cow herds, feedlots and small ruminants as well as our growing pet parent population. We have a haul in facility that is safe and unique to the area with ~ 80% of our cattle work coming into the clinic. Our indoor heated facility includes a hydraulic tilt chute for processing and foot work, an OB chute and a hydraulic calf table for spring processing needs. A portable silencer chute is available with scale for seasonal herd work.
Our small animal facilities are up to date and have everything needed to provide outstanding companion animal medicine and surgery. We have a complete Idexx station for bloodwork and urinalysis, digital x-ray, high-speed dentistry, and ultrasound. We offer routine spay/neuters, soft tissue surgery, as well as fracture repair with locking plates. Each fall we offer to our regional farm cat populations a discounted spay/neuter program, averaging roughly 200 surgeries in 14 days.
We are willing and able to mentor new grads. We are also flexible in evaluating candidates that might want to practice only small animal medicine and surgery or carry a part time schedule. Merrick County is also listed as a shortage area for the VMLRP that can assist in loan repayment.
Work life balance is very important to us. All doctors work 4 weekdays, and weekends and on-call is split between doctors evenly. We offer competitive compensation and benefits package, including CE, licensure, PTO, clothing allowance, NVMA membership, health insurance and 401K.
Our Mission Statement: Professional, personal and confident care for our client's production and companion animals
Central City is a progressive growing community that is located between the Platte and Loup rivers in central Nebraska. Our two school systems, Central City Public and Nebraska Christian School, provide families with two outstanding choices for education. The community has a trail for hiking and biking, sand pit lakes with plenty of summer and winter recreation, a new 4-H building/indoor arena, 2 movie theaters, fitness center and an outstanding child development center. Grand Island is less than a 30 minute drive, and proximity to I-80, Lincoln and Omaha for down time is valued.
