My Pets Wellness has a unique opportunity for a DVM to join our growing team as a philanthropic ambassador, practicing veterinarian, and key player on our team.

You’re a good fit for this role if you:

Enjoy clinical medicine. The majority of this role will be as a clinical veterinarian at one of our brand new, state of the art practices. We expect our veterinarians to be committed to practicing high-quality medicine with an interest in continued development and new medical techniques. Confidence in general practice medicine and surgery is required, as are excellent communication skills.

Are passionate about philanthropy. In addition to your primary clinical role, you’ll be tasked with forming relationships with local non-profit organizations, as well as leading local philanthropic events and initiatives. 

Love meaningful interactions. As the local philanthropy representative and practicing veterinarian in one of our clinics, you must be comfortable interacting with the public and other team members in a warm and positive way. 

Are ready for a change. This role is a hybrid in-clinic veterinarian and philanthropy ambassador position. You'll have dedicated time every week blocked off of your clinical calendar strictly for your philanthropic work.

Responsibilities:

• Provide high-quality general practice veterinary care at one of our brand new, state of the art facilities as an associate veterinarian, managing patient records, client communication, continuing education requirements, and other general practice expectations. This will comprise 80-90% of your responsibilities.

• Serve as a local representative for philanthropic efforts. Forge relationships with local organizations in need of support, use your creativity and passion to create campaigns and initiatives, and work with our Director of Philanthropy on large scale projects. This will comprise 10-20% of your responsibilities.

• Become a positive, people-focused representative of the My Pets Wellness brand.

Health Coverage:  

We offer three plan options through United Healthcare. We also offer Dental (Delta Dental) and Vision (VSP) coverage. Employees are eligible for medical insurance beginning on the first day of employment and vision/dental coverage the first day of the month following the start date. 

401(k) 

All employees have the opportunity to invest into a 401(k). Employer match is dollar for dollar on the first 3% and fifty cents on the dollar on the next 2%. If an individual personally defers 5% or more they will receive 4% of their gross paycheck in matching. Employees are immediately eligible to participate in the plan upon hire, and once eligible, you may begin contributing at the beginning of any month. You are always 100% vested in employee and employer contributions. 

EAP and Mental Health Support:  

We know everyone faces difficulties at times, so we provide 24-hour access to a confidential Employee Assistance Program that provides resources and solutions for problems you may encounter. Some of the resources available through the EAP include: counseling, assistance with work-life balance, self-help tools, personal and professional coaching, discounts with national brands, personal development courses, and wellness benefits (Wellness Center and Wellness Coaching). In addition to providing EAP access, we have on staff a Director of Wellbeing who is a licensed mental health professional and provides additional tools and resources to all employees. 

Paid Time Off: 

Paid-time-off is provided by My Pets Wellness for eligible employees to be away from work due to vacation, illness or other personal requirements. PTO accrues at 6.25 hours per pay period at a maximum of 160 hours annually, with 60 hours of carry over. My Pets Wellness also observes the following holidays each year: New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, and Christmas Day. 

Employee Discounts: 

All employees are eligible for discounts on veterinary services for up to three pets. In addition to free examinations, we offer a 35% discount on veterinary services / prescription medications and boarding / daycare (if applicable) as well as a 15% discount on prescription diets and over the counter medications. Retail items are discounted by 5%. 

Continuing Education and License Coverage: 

My Pets Wellness will cover all relevant professional and education expenses, such as dues, licenses (including DEA registration), books, VIN membership, conferences, travel to attend CE events, and professional liability insurance (including license defense coverage).  

Parental Leave: 

My Pets Wellness provides 30 days of 100% paid parental leave following the birth or adoption of a child for eligible employees. 

Compensation Structure: 

We offer a competitive base salary with a built-in raise of 2% starting your third year of employment, in addition to signing and retention bonuses.
