Emory University's School of Medicine: Division of Animal Resources (DAR) is seeking an Assistant Colony Manager to join their team!
The Assistant Colony Manager will assist in managing a colony of laboratory animals, maximizing efficiency of their breeding, research utilization and recovery of maintenance costs.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Responsible for documenting breeding activities including:
- genealogies and testing results;
- assisting in arranging/collection of biological samples;
- culling, introduction of new animals; and
- animal ranking.
- Will train faculty and staff one-on-one the basics of breeding management and participate in the annual training course.
- Will assume timekeeper responsibilities in the absence of the Colony Manager.
- Performs additional responsibilities, as assigned.
