Oakhurst Equine Veterinary Services is a busy four doctor practice that proudly offers a full range of quality services to our clients in Oregon and throughout the Northwest. We are seeking an equine veterinarian that loves to work on a variety of cases but has a strong interest in dentistry and lameness, with a willingness to travel for organized satellite clinics.
Our services include but are not limited to lameness, reproduction, surgery, podiatry, pre-purchase exams, dentistry, internal and preventative medicine, 24/7 emergency response, and diagnostic imaging. We utilize Digital X-Ray, Ultrasound, Endoscopy, Shockwave, PRP, Class IV Laser and much more! Our reproductive services include stallion and mare management, phantom training, live cover, artificial insemination with fresh, fresh cooled and frozen semen, frozen semen prep and storage, and embryo transfer. Oakhurst Equine is an industry leader in kissing spine surgery!
The facility consists of a large main barn with 60 stalls, stallion barn, breeding shed with phantom, eurocisor, indoor sand arena, 9/16 mile training track, round pen, video monitored foaling stalls, climate controlled exam room and observation stalls.
Located southwest of Portland, Oregon on a 147-acre Thoroughbred farm in the heart of beautiful Willamette Valley wine country, the clinic is situated within a one-hour drive to the coast, and only a few hours from the outdoor recreation mecca of central Oregon! You will find great dining, hiking, biking, skiing, watersports, golfing, fishing, and numerous other outdoor adventures readily available in the local region!
We are seeking a strong team player with exceptional communication, a desire to build the practice, and a compassion for their work! The position includes both in-house and ambulatory appointments, shared emergency on-call, partial and/or rotating weekends, and occasional satellite trips. This is a full-time position however part-time will be considered as well.
Compensation includes medical, mileage, professional insurance, continuing education allowance, holidays, professional memberships, and PTO. A retirement program is likely to be set up in 2021.
