Hoisington Veterinary Hospital is hiring a full time or part time associate whose focus is in small animal medicine/surgery. But this is more than a position we need filled. We are looking for a forever employee. Someone who is looking for a place where they are valued not only as an employee but as a person as well. Honestly, we spend more time with the people we work with than our own families so it is important that you feel our hospital will give you the professional environment that you need to grow and develop as a veterinarian and as a person as much as we feel you will provide us with a source of enthusiasm, knowledge, and leadership.
Interviews suck. It is hard to determine if you would be happy being a part of our family in only a few minutes so we are going to be real. We think we are pretty cool. Hoisington Veterinary Hospital are leaders in laparoscopic surgical services, are dedicated to providing exceptional veterinary services to underserved areas with our full service mobile hospital, and have a passion for serving rescue animals and humane societies.
We are looking for someone who is invested in making this place better. The crazier the ideas the better. Our hospital has become the place it is today because everyone on the staff has a voice and a passion for making our hospital stand out among the rest and thinks outside the box.
We are also looking for someone who doesn’t think that they are better than everyone else. Our hospital is phenomenal because of the ideas and passion of every employee that works here. EVERY EMPLOYEE. So if you think you are better than our kennel help, technicians, or front desk staff just because you have a DVM you need not apply.
We need someone who works hard but also plays hard. If you do not have a sense of humor honestly you will not be happy here. We also are a drama free zone. If there are problems we address them. We are too busy and too client focused to have people as apart of our staff who do not deal with conflict immediately and effectively.
You will need a strong passion for working with rescue animals. We have found homes for over 150 pets just this year alone and animal rescues are some of our biggest clients. We will always strive to provide a voice to the voiceless.
If this is your first job, don’t fret. Dr. Lindsay may have been in the biz for almost 10 years but she remembers what it was like starting out when you know a lot of stuff but your aren’t confident enough to realize you know a lot of stuff. She takes great pride in being a great mentor.
We are a family friendly practice. What that means is that we understand that your family comes first. I am sure every one of our children has spent the day in the office recliner for various reasons. We try to be supportive if a child is sick or other familial responsibilities pull you away from work. We have all been there.
We need someone who wants to live in a rural community. Hoisington is a town of around 3,000 people in Central Kansas. We are located very close to Cheyanne Bottoms, which is the largest wetland in interior U.S. This provides numerous opportunities for outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, and hiking. Hoisington is 15 min away from Great Bend which is a town of around 20,000.
We may be a rural hospital but we have outstanding diagnostic capabilities. We have digital radiographs, ultrasound, laparoscopic and endoscopic capabilities, and full in-house hematology capabilities. Our clients expect answers and we deliver.
