Veterinarian needed, new grads welcome!
Vernon Hills Animal Hospital
NEW GRADUATES: WE WONT THROW YOU TO THE WOLVES! I remember how scary it was to graduate and actually have to practice the profession for which I had been studying many years. Although I was well educated, I felt intimidated, and a little bit like a fraud. That’s why we have an extensive mentoring program for new graduates. You’ll be thoroughly educated and familiar with our software, staff, and procedures before you’re allowed to see clients by yourself. We’ll always have an experienced veterinarian there to help if you have questions or need advice. You can work for a corporation, but do you really want to have to fill quotas to the detriment of your patients? Do you want a corporate entity to dictate how you can practice? If so, this job’s not for you! We are looking for a full time new graduate small animal practitioner to join our team in Mundelein (Lake County) Illinois. We are about 45 minutes north of Chicago. There are lots of great restaurants, entertainment, shopping, and recreational opportunities in the Lake and Cook County area. Vernon Hills Animal Hospital has served the surrounding upscale community since 1985. We are a four doctor small animal practice. Although dogs and cats are our emphasis, we see lots of exotics. There are several emergency and specialty centers nearby, including specialties in ophthalmology, dermatology, oncology, behavior, surgery, internal medicine, and dentistry, so referrals are easy. We don't see after-hour emergencies or do 24 hour care. Our staff members at VHAH are certified Fear Free. We are also a Cat Friendly practice. We place great importance of the mental well-being of our patients, not just their physical condition. This allows a much more pleasant and stress-free environment for our doctors and employees. Our staff undergoes continual phone training to ensure the best possible customer service. We believe in staff education. We foster a good working environment. That -- and friendly employees -- is why many of our staff have been with us over 20 years. Of course we want to hire a skillful, hard-working clinician, but people skills and enthusiasm are of the utmost importance. Our compensation package includes profit sharing, 401K, disability insurance, professional liability insurance, and a stipend for CE, health insurance, licenses, and memberships. In addition to other equipment, we have digital radiography, including dental radiography, a therapeutic laser, and a surgical laser. We extensively use a traveling ultrasonographer if a case doesn’t need referral to an internist. The software we use is Avimark, and our practice has been paperless since 2003. I would love to talk to any new graduates interested in a job at our animal hospital! Feel free to contact me with any questions. Molly McCullough, D.V.M. Stephen Barten, D.V.M. 847-367-4070
