Vetted is the leading name in house call veterinary medicine. We're expanding rapidly and need to ensure that with this growth we maintain a laser focus on practicing good veterinary medicine. We're looking for someone who can lead the charge across a variety of areas and touch points within the company to ensure this is at the forefront of our business. It will be incredibly important as we scale to ensure consistent communication between our veterinarians, veterinary technicians, and the rest of the Vetted team. One of your most important roles will be to act as a liaison between these two distinct sides of the business. This role will be based out of Vetted’s corporate headquarters in Los Angeles with occasional travel required to our other markets and industry events. • Define our standard of care and client-facing veterinary protocols • Ensure compliance and organization across all medical channels • Be part of an agile startup where your work has real impact every day • Improve the lives of pets and their people Search for Director, Veterinary Operations Your Role Search for Director, Veterinary Operations The Role Your Responsibilities Will Include: • Define our standard of care: Guidelines that define the appropriate treatment/course of action for a particular health problem/situation, and protocols based on our standard of care • Ensure that our practices are compliant with all relevant agencies (VMB, DEA, State Board of Pharmacy) • Implement and enforce internal and external best practices in veterinary medicine. Use these best practices to standardize the experience that our teams provide in the home • Ensure that every technician is carrying the same items to each visit - and that every veterinarian is carrying medication that they routinely prescribe for common ailments • Highlight revenue opportunities from a medical standpoint • Manage the Care Team and all field technicians • Ensure completeness of medical records • Single point of contact for all medical/administrative concerns that our veterinarians have an assurance that their concerns are addressed • Ensure that our veterinarians and their points of view are represented in leadership meetings • Help recruit veterinarians and technicians in coordination with our Veterinarian Recruiter • Represent Vetted at industry events and in professional bodies (AVMA, SCVMA) as well as in press interviews about the importance of house calls • Managing our formulary/pharmacy, including determining what should we carry in-house vs. what should be at external pharmacies (and which external pharmacies should we work with • Ensure that we have the right partnerships for everything we can't do in-house (surgery, imaging, diagnostics) and that we are maintaining those relationships properly • Stand in for our veterinarians when they are on vacation by approving medication or communicating with clients on their behalf • Work with our product team to ensure that our veterinarian-facing technology is compliant, easy to use, and medically relevant • Do all of the above to ensure that our brand is one of a medically responsible company that is current with best practices and advocates in the best interest of its patients Your Qualifications: • You have previously operated an in-home veterinary service • You are a fully licensed veterinarian in the state of California
