Small/Mixed Animal Veterinarian
Rancocas Veterinary Associates
We're seeking a full-time mixed animal veterinarian to join our practice in south central NJ (about 45 minutes east of Philadelphia and 45 minutes west of the shore). There are two office locations- a small animal office in Mount Holly, NJ and a large animal facility a mile up the road in Eastampton, NJ. We see a highly varied multi-species caseload with about 60% small animal and 40% large animal/equine. The vast majority of our large animal caseload is pet/backyard farm livestock vs. production animals. Currently we have four full-time veterinarians- two doctors see primarily small animal cases and two doctors are strictly large animal/equine. One of these veterinarians is a board-certified large animal internal medicine specialist. We have a consulting board-certified small animal surgeon who does primarily orthopedics and a consulting board-certified small animal internal medicine specialist available when needed. There is also have a consulting board-certified animal ophthalmologist who sees regular large animal appointments here. We also see large (and some small) animal cases on a ambulatory/house call basis and have three ambulatory trucks for this. We pride ourselves in practicing up-to-date medicine using the latest in available technology. Our office is is paperless (AVImark), equipped with in-house lab equipment (IDEXX), isoflurane/sevoflurane anesthesia, monitoring equipment (ECG/temp/SpO2/EtCO2/NIBP), Bair Hugger, a CO2 laser, Bovie electrocautery, a vessel sealing device, two digital x-ray systems, two ultrasounds, digital dental x-ray, endoscopy, and more. The primary responsibility of this position is to serve small animal clients in our Mt. Holly location, but there is opportunity for equine/large animal exposure if desired. Interest/experience with small animal dentistry is a plus. Additionally, we provide veterinary services for a large county animal shelter and experience and/or interest in shelter medicine/surgery is a plus (but not a requirement). We refer after-hours small animal emergencies to a local ER facility but cover equine/large animal emergencies on a rotating schedule. While this position does NOT require the candidate to provide large animal emergency coverage, those interested in in participating in on-call coverage have additional earning potential. We offer retirement benefits (IRA), participation in the practice's health insurance plan, life insurance, paid time off, a staff discount, professional liability insurance, a CE allowance, and licensing costs covered by the practice.
